George Bradford Neumann was born on March 18, 1882, in New Britain, Connecticut. He received his B.A. from Wesleyan University in 1905, and his B.D. from Hartford Theological Seminary in 1908. In 1908, he married Louisa M. Stockwell of New Britain, Connecticut. He taught at West China Union University from 1908 until 1915. From 1915 to 1916, he studied in America and received his M.A. from Columbia University. In 1924, he received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Wesleyan, and earned his Ph.D. from Columbia in 1927. He served on the faculty of Buffalo University, as a professor of sociology and dean of men from 1925. Neumann died in 1936.
