Paul MacEachron graduated from Grinnell College in 1911 and did a year of study at the Graduate School of Theology at Oberlin College. During that year he worked as an assistant to the pastor at the First Congregational Church and coached the athletic teams at Oberlin Academy. In 1917, he and his wife, Helen Dunham MacEachron (Grinnell class of 1911) went to Dezhou to teach at Grinnell-in-China. They returned in 1922 when Paul became the Dean of Men at Grinnell College. In 1925 they moved to Oberlin where Paul was a professor in the Department of Physical Education and coached Oberlin's football and basketball teams. On June 1st, 1930, he fell from a cliff on the bank of Chance Creek in Brownhelm Township, Ohio, and died.
